Using Rust Remover to Clean Out Sinks and Toilets

May 4, 2018

It’s common for rust and other stains to build up on the porcelain in sinks and toilets, especially if you get your water from a well—wells have much higher iron content in their water. This staining can also come from galvanized water pipes that have started to rust and leak into your sink or toilet components.

If you have a chronic issue with rust stains, you might need to look into some more serious approaches to resolving the issue. But most staining is not a serious problem, and can be resolved with the use of porcelain cleaners or, for more heavy-duty stains, rust removers.

The Magica rust remover can be used on just about any surface to remove rust stains, including porcelain. You apply it as you would most other types of chemical cleaners—let it sit on the stain, then scrub it in with a brush to lift the stain off the surface before rinsing or flushing it away.

However, there are a few extra benefits that come with using Magica’s rust remover that you won’t find in other types of chemical products from other manufacturers:

  • Not nearly as harsh: While chemical cleaning products can be extremely effective at removing rust stains from sinks and toilets, they are not particularly gentle. Not at all. But Magica is an exception. Our proprietary formula ensures our rust remover works better than these other types of cleaners, but it is still gentle enough that you can use it on just about any type of surface without worrying about damaging it. This is a welcome change from these other formulas that contain phosphoric, hydrochloric or hydrofluoric acids.
  • More environmentally friendly: Those acids mentioned above are not only extremely harsh on your surfaces, but also very hard on the environment. Remember: any chemicals you flush down a toilet or let drain down a sink will eventually, at some point, end up back in the earth or water. These acids harm wildlife and vegetation alike. Magica rust remover does not contain these same abrasive, harsh chemicals, meaning it is significantly better for the environment.
  • Outstanding versatility: Magica Rust Remover is safe to apply on virtually any surface. This makes it a popular cleaner for use across a wide variety of industries and in many different applications. Yes, you can use it on porcelain, but you can also use it on metal, stone, concrete, fabric, plastic and so much more.

Basically, if you have toilets and sinks that draw their water from a well, you’re going to want to have a good rust remover on hand, considering the amount of iron that’s going to be in your water—especially if you don’t have a built-in filtration system. You can do no better than Magica for a combination of effectiveness, environmental friendliness and versatility.
